TARAXACUM 88 S1

Inspired by the dandelion, the previous form of a dandelion flower, Achille Castiglioni named his round light sculpture after the botanical name of the dandelion, Taraxacum. Like the dandelion, which sends its seeds reminiscent of gliders out into the world with a breath of wind, the Taraxacum 88 S1 pendant light directs its light outwards and illuminates its surrounding. The viewer does not only succumb to the special charm of the Taraxacum 88 S1 pendant light when it lights up. The very shape of the lamp embodies elegance, lightness and luxury. This applies to the Taraxacum 88 S1 pendant lamp as well as to its big sister, Taraxacum 88 S2 and the wall and ceiling lamp Taraxacum 88 C/W.

Because, 20 parts made of polished aluminum in the shape of triangles form the heart of the Taraxacum 88 S1, the almost round luminaire body. The triangles are held together mechanically by metal bars. With a diameter of 80 centimeters, the pendant lamp is equipped with a textile-covered power cable of 5.5 meters in length. A steel relief rope and canopy are robust enough to keep the 10.6 kilogram Taraxacum 88 S1 lamp in balance. The luminaire body is equipped with 60 globe bulbs, which are arranged all around and underline the spherical shape. The globe bulbs with LED technology are available separately and can be purchased in the TAGWERC Design STORE as separate item.
