SPIRAL SP1

by Verner Panton, 1969 / 1970

SPIRAL SP1 multicolor by the furnishing label Verpan is a chandelier that already cleaned up in the late 1960s with traditional ideas of opulent, classic clusters. According to a design by Verner Panton from the year 1969/1970, the SPIRAL SP1 multicolor is less reminiscent of a pendant lamp but rather of a light object formed by spirals. In the TAGWERC Design STORE you get the suspension lamp SPIRAL SP1 multicolor in the original with certificate of authenticity. As the specialist for design objects, Tagwerc has all original spare parts for the hanging lamp SPIRAL SP1 multicolor by Verpan available.

Spiral SP1

The Danish Designer conceptualized this lighting, consting of different models, for the Cologne Furniture Fair in 1970, more specifically, for the Visiona 2 exhibition, for which an entire ship was redesigned. A year later, Panton was commissioned to set up a restaurant in Aahaus, Denmark. Here again, in the Varna Palace, a neoclassical building on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula, the SPIRAL SP1 multicolor was used. Panton combined the SPIRAL pendant lights with a whole range of his designs: Amoebe, Amoebe Highback, Illumesa, Cloverleaf Sofa, Ball Type H and VP Globe pendants as well as the Welle lounge combination. All of these Panton designs are available in TAGWERC Design STORE.

As a part of this family the SPIRAL SP1 exists of lacquered arcylic spirals attached by nylon strings to a large ceiling plate made from the same material and finished in the colour white.

The SPIRAL SP1 cluster in multicolor has a diameter of 48 centimeters (18.90″) and a height of 115 centimeters (45.28″). The light source with a maximum output of 100 watts is powered via a transparent cable, which is led through the ceiling rose. The extravagant cluster is available in three different sizes, SPIRAL SP1 multicolor (115 centimeters), SPIRAL SP2 multicolor (180 centimeters) and SPIRAL SP3 multicolor (220 centimeters) in the TAGWERC Design STORE. In addition to multicolor, there are the SPIRAL suspensions in gold and silver. In addition, the design interior specialist TAGWERC offers to extend or shorten these drop-lights on request.
