Barboy meets Moët & Chandon

The Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2002, the first Grand Vintage since 1930 to be aged for seven years, was launched at the peak of its maturity. Moët & Chandon’s tradition is a five-year ageing process, while the law requires a minimum of three years. To celebrate this outstanding vintage, Moët & Chandon created a limited edition of Verner Panton‘s Barboy rolling container. The luxurious mobile bar is equipped with a bottle of Grand Vintage 2002 as well as two exceptional older wines from the Grand Vintage Collection, Grand Vintage Collection 1992 and Grand Vintage Collection 1982.

Vertical tasting

The opportunity to taste these fine wines together is a unique and exceptional experience, rarely possible outside of Moët & Chandon’s historic cellars. These wines are characterised as “harmonious”. They are characterised by their maturity, the uniformity of their reading and the harmony of their flavours and with each other, an ideal combination for a vertical tasting.

The Grand Vintage Barboy

The cylindrical Barboy combines mobility, practicality and compactness. It has castors and the bottom compartment reveals three Grand Vintage champagnes and a luxurious champagne cooler that cools a bottle down to ten degrees Celsius within 15 minutes. The middle compartment contains four Grand Vintage flutes specially designed by Riedel – the industry-leading developer of innovative wine glasses – to highlight the special characteristics – maturity, complexity and confident personality – of these fine sparkling wines. The top compartment is designed for other accessories such as napkins or crackers, while the top element of the barboy can be used as a storage surface. This elegant mini bar combines all the requirements for ultimate enjoyment of Moët & Chandon.

Exclusive interior design

First launched in 1963, the Verner Panton Barboy is the epitome of 20th century design. This unique version of the Barboy, created for Moët & Chandon, is considered one of the most unusual pieces of interior design of the last 50 years. The black lacquer finish was complemented by a caramel-coloured leather interior.

The luxurious Moët & Chandon Barboy is filled with a bottle of Grand Vintage 2002, a bottle of Grand Vintage Collection 1992 and the Grand Vintage Collection 1982.

Price approx. 3,568 EUR.
